One Busy Guy on the Net!

Internet Radio is a blossoming phenomenon!

It is an unhampered environment in which to work and so very enjoyable for listening. Unlike a standard broadcast station, net radio can be received around the world by anyone with a computer. There are many 'indies' on the net. For the most part one never knows what  will be heard. Other times you can tune into your favorite show like any other form of media.

Not all net radio broadcasts are also AM or FM. In fact, apart from the larger public and commercial stations, only a few  are actually available on a standard radio. This is slowly changing in that technology is on the horizon to place a net subscription radio into your automobile at a very affordable price. The advantage here is that there are fewer time constraints. Net broadcasters are able to indulge us in the projects of independent artists and producers. It is a forum where the play list is not determined by the giant entertainment conglomerates marketing the 'artist du jour'

A recent poll concerning presidential elections was quoted to say that most people believe our system excludes or discourages the best people from participating. This is also quite unfortunately true in the business of music. There is independent music out there that won't appeal to you at all and yet some that you will find thoroughly endearing. People tend to think of independent music in terms of some tattoo encrusted, Mohawk sporting metal head. And you can find that if it's what you're looking for.

There is also a great volume of worthwhile musicianship that is simply ignored or overlooked by the large record companies. Independent's don't worry about shareholders or quarterly profits or generating the right 'pr' for an artist with only marginal talent. The recent upsurge in electronics has created devices that make it possible for a deplorable vocalist to actually sing on pitch!

You'll want to check out the full pallet of available textures to be found on net radio. I'm happy that I can participate in your initiation into this fabulous listening experience.
